The two Game of Thrones power players return in first-look posters at House of the Dragon season 2, which arrive a day before HBO plans to release the first trailer for all to see out of the CCXP fan convention in Brazil. After the sizzling season 1 finale, which brought a major death, Rhaenyra and Alicent are demanding “blood for blood” and “fire to fire” in the two new one-sheets. House of the Dragon, from showrunner Ryan Condal, chronicles the Dance of the Dragons, a brutal years-long conflict from Westeros history that devastated the once-imperious Targaryen Empire.

Season 1 laid the groundwork for the coming devastation: Rhaenyra was her father’s chosen heir to the Iron Throne, but the Hand of the King, Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), and his supporters usurped the Westeros crown for his grandson, Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney). After Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) lost control of his dragon Vhagar and killed Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys, all bets are now off. Season 2 will premiere sometime in the summer of 2024, HBO previously revealed.

Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham.
